Take Down Your Fences!
I am very excited to be developing a new project with In Between Time Festival in Bristol: Take Down Your Fences is a concept to promote wildness and wild spaces in urban areas.
Take Down Your Fences is a provocation that invites a re-imagining of how we use garden space in urban areas, re -conceptualising the private garden as a nature reserve and inviting people, neighbours, to take down their fences in order to tap into potentially miles of open land in inner city areas.
Imagine what we could do with this land. We could create shared allotments, community gardens, lakes and swimming pools, shared play areas for kids… social spaces to meet, cook outdoors, climb trees…This would create much greater urban bio-diversity, shift what we understand by urban density and create a new relational framework.
Take Down Your Fences is currently at research and development stage with In Between Time, Bristol.
