Cornhill, Dorchester
Community engagement project to inform the re-design of the historic Cornhill town square in Dorchester.
People were invited to re-imagine the square by moving 1:1 scale foam blocks around and building their own architectural interventions. Through this process we were able to enter in dialogues around what the square was used for throughout the year, observe current usage and imagine what it might become.
The learning from this exercise was used to design a playable space that revives the old town pump both as a water station and place to meet and play. I produced initial sketches then collaborated with Feria and Ubu, who are currently taking the scheme forwards through planning stages.
The Cornhill project was a collaboration between Feria Urbanism, UBU and Dorchester Town Council. The scheme is currently going through planning.
