Nutopia Symposium 2008

Funded by Heritage Lottery Fund

Project managed by Safle & Zoe King

 

The Nutopia Symposium was located in an empty shop. The programme combined papers and academic discussion alongside break out sessions for delegates including a bike ride led by cycle couriers, a dawn walk, ‘Vulpine’ by artists Simon Whitehead & Ben Stammers, a Situationist game by RoTar, a guided walk by Esther Pilkington & Daniel Ladner, Mapping a Zimbabwe city- an exercise by humanitarian aid worker, Mark Chapel, Nutopian Drinking game, Sophie Hope.

Conference speakers included: Tom Hall (Cardiff University), Jill Fenton (QMW), Prof. Malcom Miles (University Plymouth), Chris Carlsson (San Francisco), Steve Garrett (Riverside Market), Zoe Skoulding (Bangor University), Nell Quest (Marseille), Karem Said (American University Cairo), Anne Marie Culhane, Mac Dunlop, Dr Rachel Armstrong, (Bartlett).
