Creating Inclusive Green Spaces For All, 2025

Queen Mary University of London & THCVS.

Symposium in collaboration with Future of London.

The purpose of this project was to test the design guidance and invest in micro projects to explore the benefits and barriers to adopting the inclusive design framework.

Projects by, WEN (Women’s environmental Network), Oittij- Jo Collective, The East London Garden Society and Urban Adventure Base, were selected from an open call to test elements of the guidance and through this experimental approach we could learn what the broader barriers and what the benefits are to adopting the design framework.

The outcomes of this were shared at a symposium in Summer 2025 and presented by Future of London as part of their ‘Happy Cities’ Programme.

The whole project will be presented at ‘Just Parks? RGS-IBG Annual Conference 2026’ at The Bartlett School of Planning UCL.
