How can listed, Victorian homes be made warmer in winter and cooler in summer, reduce damp and mould, without losing the character of the conservation area, and being mindful of the mixed tenures of residents that live there?

This was the challenge posed by Westmister City Council. Working in collaboration with Future of London and Archio, we ran a citizens panel over six months to co-design Healthy Homes Guidance and a Healthy Homes Hub to look at ‘what’ is needed to retrofit these Victorian Properties, but also ‘How’ to deliver that change.

The outcome is a Healthy Homes Guide, designed by ARCHIO and a co-designed strategy for implementing this retrofit across tenure types and bearing in mind the different needs of tenants.
